The sabre is quite a different weapon, this is a light cutting and thrusting weapon, so you can also hit with the edge of the weapon. In sabre fencing, everything above the waist is valid target area, except for the hands. Similar to foil in this form of fencing the rules of “right of way” are also used when a double hit occurs.
